PH Jones fleet opts for DFM

Heating, plumbing and mechanical services specialists PH Jones have chosen Daimler Fleet Management to be the sole contract hire supplier for their fleet of over 750 cars and light commercial vehicles.
Daimler Fleet Management (DCFM) has been selected by PH Jones Ltd to fund its fleet of 50 cars and 700 LCVs. PH Jones has traditionally purchased its vehicles, but following a tender process, opted for a fleet management strategy with the vehicles migrating to a fully funded contract hire agreement with maintenance.
Based in Cheshire and operating over 20 regional offices across the UK, PH Jones, a family-run business for over 40 years, has achieved consistently high levels of growth and an excellent reputation for customer care and service. The company provides a range of heating and plumbing installation and maintenance services for public and private sector customers, including housing associations, local authorities, major utility and property services companies.
Don Hankey, Technical Director of PH Jones, explained: “We wanted to work with a company that could help us deliver on our service and response time to our customers, as well as meet our requirement to provide new vehicles at short notice. We went out to tender and DFM was the most competitive on price while offering the highest quality of service.”
With growth predicted to continue, the known costs of contract hire and the lack of residual value and maintenance risk were attractive to PH Jones Ltd. “DFM’s solution helps us implement our planning going forward,” said Financial Director Simon Hindley. “From a financial viewpoint, knowing our monthly fleet costs helps us, in turn, to be competitive and give best value to our customers.”
The fleet mostly consists of Peugeot vehicles with Partners and Experts in the small to medium van category and Boxers for the larger vans. The car fleet includes Peugeot 307s and 407s with a mix of executive vehicles.
