Karcher UK opts to lease fleet through DFM

Daimler Fleet Management (DFM) has been chosen by tender to manage the UK vehicle fleet of international cleaning equipment leader Karcher. With its pan-European and worldwide capabilities, DFM is also providing fleet management services for Karcher in Germany.
Karcher UK has moved from a policy of outright purchase to leasing for its 92 vehicle mixed car and van fleet and has selected the all-makes fleet management company Daimler Fleet Management (DFM) as sole supplier. The move, which followed a tendering process bringing in leasing companies currently used by other Karcher subsidiaries worldwide, involves a sale and leaseback deal for approximately 50% of the vehicles, with the remainder being brought under fleet management for replacement later this year.
A world market leader in industrial, commercial and domestic cleaning equipment, Karcher is currently setting up an international car policy that brings the fleets of the company’s subsidiaries worldwide under a few selected leasing agreements. The criteria for selection include the ability to provide fleet management services across Europe and worldwide as well as offering all makes of vehicle and a comprehensive range of fleet management services. Karcher’s head office is in Winnenden, near Stuttgart, and DFM is also the fleet management supplier for the company’s fleet in Germany.

Leasing arrangements for the Karcher UK fleet involves three-year contract hire for cars and four-year contract hire for vans, both including maintenance and accident management.
