New fuel card for DFM provides strategic fleet benefits
November 2005
The new fuel card from Daimler Fleet Management offers its customers a solution to the issue of VAT reclamation on fuel as well as favourable fuel prices, an extensive nationwide filling network and unmatched online services for fleet administrators and managers.
Leading all-makes fleet management company Daimler Fleet Management (DFM) has announced that it is now offering its customers the award-winning euroShell Fleet Card. The move by DFM comes at a time when fleets need to consider their strategies for compliance with the European VAT Directive. The problem relates to employee fuel purchases for business journeys and using fuel cards is widely believed to be the best response to this issue.
The euroShell Fleet Card will give DFM customer drivers access to favourable prices at the pumps at a time when rising fuel costs are an issue for fleets. For instance, the TNS Pricing Panel Survey 2004 found that Shell fuel prices were the second lowest in the UK after Asda. There is no problem with finding a suitable filling station either, because the card can be used at the extensive network of Shell and Esso forecourts across the UK, with a further Network Extension available to include Total outlets.
Moreover, DFM Operations Director Jeremy Mills stressed that the euroShell Fleet Card offered companies a sophisticated online reporting system with fuel cost analysis services that were second to none.
“We are delighted to have formed this business partnership with Shell, enabling us to provide an exceptional fuel card product with comprehensive benefits for our corporate customers and their drivers. While, from an HR standpoint, the euroShell Fleet Card can represent an attractive element within the employee benefits package, we also believe that fleet administrators will find that the online support available will be invaluable for their fuel management strategies,” he said.
The euroShell Fleet Card online reporting services can be tailored by company fleets to meet the exact requirements of their fuel management policies, with functions including:
· Viewing purchasing transactions across the UK and Europe by account, card group, individual card or country
· Running Transaction Reports providing an overview of card transactions including pricing and transaction dates
· Identifying card misuse through Exception Reports that highlight transactions exceeding given criteria
· Sending email alerts directly to the customer within 72 hours of a purchase transaction that falls outside agreed guidelines
· Ordering new cards, cancelling cards and making changes to card cost centres
· Downloading data onto a range of software packages such as MS Excel.
