Bosch puts DFM in the Driving Seat

July 2005

Robert Bosch Limited has appointed Daimler Fleet Management (DFM) to manage their current fleet and for the supply and fleet management of new vehicles on to the fleet.

DFM was awarded the contract, which will include both cars and light commercials and also a daily rental service, at all six Bosch sites in the UK, following a tender process which was managed by Bosch’s Shared Services Centre.  DFM also provides fleet management for the Bosch operation in France.

Bosch, a leading global supplier of automotive and industrial technology and of consumer goods and building technology, operates a user/chooser policy.  Many of the candidate vehicles, which will be funded by contract hire, were supplied by manufacturers including Audi, BMW, Ford, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Toyota and VW for the drivers to test at a ride and drive day held earlier in the year at Bosch’s UK headquarters at Denham, Buckinghamshire.

At several of the sites, DFM is also relieving Bosch of the day-to-day administration of the fleet.  They have assisted in setting the vehicle policy and will ensure that it is updated when necessary.  Drivers will have a dedicated point of contact for all company car tax, servicing, lead time and delivery issues and will be able to take advantage of DFM’s online vehicle service booking system.

“As well as competitive pricing, we were able to demonstrate to Bosch our fleet management expertise and our commitment to a high quality, consistent performance,” commented Paul Harrop, Sales & Marketing Director, “and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
